IME vs FFD
An IME or “Independent Medical Examination” is a medicolegal assessment done for the purpose of claim management. It will address some or all of the issues raised. The assessment usually must confirm to specific legislative or judicial requirements.
An FFD or “Fitness For Duty” assessment is one where a persons medical status is evaluated against specific job requirements and advice given as to whether the person is safe to perform the inherent requirements of a workplace role and if not, what adjustments are required.
It can also provide advice on what treatment/rehabilitation is required, barriers to recovery and strategies to deal with them and prognosis overall.

What is an Independent Assessment?
Examinations performed by a physician/medical expert not involved in the clinical management of the examinee, usually with the aim of providing a formal report for the purpose of clarifying any or all of;
