The Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR’s) require that all organisations engaged in Safety Sensitive Aviation Activities (SSAA’s) are required to have a Drug & Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP).
CASR Part 99 is the legal instrument setting out what is required including specific alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) testing.
The Regulations also require that organisations have access to the services of a Medical Review Officer (MRO) to provide interpretive advice and determination.
We can provide:
- Collection IAW CASR Part 99 to AS/NZS 4308 2008
- An MRO accredited by the CASA recognised organisation AMROA.
- “Testing can be done in clinic or,if more convenient, may be possible on site (would need appropriate facilities).
- Turnaround times for results vary depending on the testing method from immediate with instant testing to longer if laboratory testing is required.
Note: any non-negative site test must be sent for laboratory confirmation IAW the CASA Regulations.
See the Statement of Attainment regarding Collector Certification to AS/NZS 4308:2008 and use of a NATA accredited laboratory for analysis.

Our Specialisation in Aviation Medicine
The lower pressure aviation environment poses some unique challenges to human health.
Aviation medicine is a sub-speciality of occupational medicine that deals with the potential health problems in working at altitude.
Some of these issues include trapped and evolved gas disorders, hypoxia and the potential effect of flight on existing medical issues.
Our role is to assist in safely managing health in such environments.
